This is our local and shortest hike between our two villages, Mata de Cima and Mata de Baixo. An easy and relaxing walk with stunning views of the mountains. On the way you will see a 300 years old chapel in Mata de Baixo.

A Great destination through the local woods that will lead you to an amazing spot with an unexpected little stone sofa as a tribute to a local lady. A breath-taking view to clear your mind and stop for a moment. Enroute you will see a picturesque hamlet called Cabeca da Corte.

One of the rotating wooden windmills, typical of the region has stunning panoramic views of the Serra do Sicó and a place for a picnic.

Our longest hike, just over 6 kilometres each way, but what a reward when you get there!! You will arrive at the a cave, in the shape of a shell, which rises over the chapel that appears suspended, due to a staircase on each side.

There is a rocky front where the chapel of Senhora da Estrela is, which is particularly high. At the top they built a lookout for the view; where the clear sky reaches the sea of Figueira da Foz.

The view towards the sea feeds the legend that a navigator was drifting out to sea and he promised to build a chapel for Our Lady if he was saved. Soon after, a star appeared in the firmament which guided him to earth.
